DOES MICROBLADING HURT?

At Brow Boutique we use a topical anesthetic used for numbing before and during your procedure. Although pain threshold levels vary from person to person, every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the entirety of the procedure. Most clients say it does not hurt at all! However, please note you will be more sensitive if you are on your menstrual cycle.

ARE YOU ABLE TO FIX MY PREVIOUSLY MICROBLADED OR TATTOOED BROWS?

Previously tattooed eyebrows may require one or two additional appointments and rarely achieve the same results to those who have no previous tattoo work because of the existing scar tissue and color under the skin, even if it isn't visible. Please send a photo of your eyebrows makeup free and in natural lighting to browboutiquebykristen@gmail.com
so that we can see if we can help.

Please note that microblading correction or tattoo correction does require more time and more work. ** prices may vary**

.CAN I WEAR MAKEUP THE DAY OF MY APPOINTMENT?

You can wear makeup to show me how your brows are usually filled in the way you do them daily. This way I can get a general feel of how you'll be comfortable with your microblading result. This is a collaborative process after all!

Please note: I will be wiping the down brow and forehead area.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Microblading and Microshading is considered a semi-permanent  procedure .The treatment will  naturally fade over time since the pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as a traditional tattoo. Touch-ups are required 4-8 weeks after the initial procedure and then every 1-3 years.

Frequency of touch-ups depends on a number of factors including sun exposure, chemical peels (glycolic acid, lactic acid , etc.), how active the client is, and how fast each individual's cell turnover is and depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry) Each individual’s color retention within the skin will vary. To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12-18 months. It is very common and normal for microblading to fade substantially the first time it is done which is why it requires layering and is a two to three step process.

Please note that final results and time frame cannot be guaranteed as each skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates.

DO YOU PROVIDE AN AFTERCARE KIT?

Every microblading client will receive a complimentary aftercare kit. These kits are crucial to your recovery and healing process.

CAN I GET MY DEPOSIT BACK?

All deposits are required to make an appointment to ensure your spot it held. All deposits are NON- REFUNDABLE. However, if you need to reschedule your appointment, you need to provide 48 Hours notice and the deposit will be transferred to your next appointment.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?

The procedure takes roughly 2.5 hours depending on the complexity of the desired eyebrows (individuals with less natural hairs take slightly longer). If you would like microshading added to your procedure it roughly takes 3 hours. However please allow a 3-3.5 hour window as a buffer so that nothing is rushed.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?

Healing time varies for each individual. Typically about 7 to 14 days. It is completely normal for the brows to go through the natural stages of healing. From the pigment looking dark the first few days, to your brows going through the natural shedding/ flaking stages.

Please note: This procedure requires no down time, or time off work.

CAN I BRING A GUEST TO MY APPOINTMENT?

You are more than welcome to bring ONE friend or family member with you to your appointment, however in order to adhere to the guidelines and safety requirements , we do not permit infants/toddlers or pets due to the exposure of blood borne pathogens.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T LIKE MY RESULTS ?

In the case that you are not satisfied with the results of your microblading or semi permanent brow enhancement there are three options:

  1. Ask if there can be any improvement to the shape (if not please look at steps 2 and 3)

  2. Let the brows naturally fade out on their own

  3. Seek a removal specialist (Laser or Manual removal)

All clients approve the shape before the procedure. Each client signs off on the shape acknowledging that this will be the final look. Under no circumstance is Kristen’s Brow Boutique Inc. responsible or liable for any further action taken towards your brows. The client fully accepts responsibility and Kristen’s Brow Boutique holds harmless and without liability of any kind whatsoever regarding the pigment and/or discolouration and/or position of all semi permanent makeup / microblading procedures.

DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT?

We ask every client to follow these step to get optimal results:

  • Avoid taking aspirin, Fish oil, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen (Advil) unless it’s medically necessary, 24 hours prior to your procedure. ( Tylenol is fine)

  • Avoid alcohol or caffeine the day before the procedure.

  • About 2-3 days before your scheduled appointment , lightly exfoliate your face, focusing on your forehead area, using a cleansing scrub or an exfoliator

  • Discontinue any application of chemical exfoliates such as Glycolic acid, Retin-A, AHA’s etc. For at least 3 days before your appointment

DO YOU SHAVE ANY PART OF THE EYEBROW?

NO! I never shave the eyebrows before microblading. We want to keep the hair you already have and add in microbladed strokes to blend everything together. Plucking is absolutely necessary to get the desired shape.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MICROBLADING AND MICROSHADING?

MICROBLADING:
Best for:
Anyone who wants a natural looking brows by using fine hair strokes.

Microblading is a semi permanent cosmetic procedure, in which a manual hand tool is used. This sterile needle is used to create fine, hair-like strokes in the first layer of skin using safe and innovative pigments ( which are specifically designed for the procedure).

MICROSHADING:
Best for:
Anyone who wants their brows to resemble a makeup “ powdered look”.

Microshading technique is done using either an electric hand tool or a manual tool, which creates a soft, powdered effect that resembles eyebrow powder. Microshading employs a stippling method, which uses repetitive dots of pigment

DO YOU MAP/ MEASURE THE FACE BEFORE BEGINNING?

Absolutely YES! It’s crucial to measure each individuals face based on their features. By measuring the face it allows me to correct asymmetries, desired shape, and an outline for the client to see before we begin. Once the client is happy with the shape, arch and tail, we proceed.

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT COLOUR TO USE?

Each color is hand picked and completely customizable by me. The color is based on numerous factors such as, skin color, skin type (oily, dry, etc.), hair color, how your skin reacts to sunlight (whether you tan or burn) and lastly whether you are planning on changing your hair color. Many clients are worried about the color being too dark. So in order for this not to happen, the first appointment we always go lighter with the color, and at the touch up appointment, it’s your decision whether you like the color as it is, or you want to proceed with making the color darker. It is always best to do it in stages!
