FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • At Brow Boutique, we employ a topical anesthetic to ensure optimal comfort before and during your procedure. While individual pain thresholds may vary, our commitment remains unwavering in ensuring your comfort throughout. Most clients report minimal discomfort, with many experiencing none at all. It's important to note that sensitivity may be heightened during menstrual cycles, due to hormonal fluctuations.

  • Microblading and Microshading are recognized as semi-permanent procedures. The treatment naturally fades over time because the pigments are not implanted as deeply into the skin as with traditional tattoos. Touch-ups are recommended 4-8 weeks after the initial procedure, followed by maintenance sessions every 1-3 years.

The frequency of touch-ups varies based on several factors, such as sun exposure, chemical peels (like glycolic acid or lactic acid), the client's activity level, and individual skin type (normal, oily, dry). Color retention within the skin also varies among individuals. To keep the brows looking fresh, a touch-up every 12-18 months is recommended. Initial fading after the first session is common, which is why microblading often involves layering and a multi-step process.

Please be aware that final results and duration cannot be guaranteed, as pigments interact differently with each skin type and degrade at varying rates.

  • The procedure typically lasts approximately 2.5 hours, with variability based on the complexity of the desired eyebrow appearance (individuals with fewer natural hairs may require slightly more time). If microshading is included, the procedure extends to approximately 3 hours. We recommend allocating a window of 3 to 3.5 hours to ensure ample time.

  • Previous tattooed eyebrows may necessitate one or two additional appointments and often do not yield results comparable to those without prior tattoo work due to the presence of scar tissue and underlying pigmentation, even if not visibly apparent. Kindly send a makeup-free photo of your eyebrows in natural lighting to browboutiquebykristen@gmail.com for assessment and to determine if we can assist you.

Please be aware that microblading or tattoo correction may require extended time and effort. Prices may vary.

  • Healing time varies for each individual. Typically about 7 to 14 days. It is completely normal for the brows to go through the natural stages of healing. From the pigment looking dark the first few days, to your brows going through the natural shedding/ flaking stages.

Please note: This procedure requires no down time, or time off work.

  • You are more than welcome to bring ONE friend or family member with you to your appointment, however in order to adhere to the guidelines and safety requirements , we do not permit infants/toddlers or pets due to the exposure of blood borne pathogens.

  • Clients are kindly requested to submit a deposit to secure their appointment slot. Please note that all deposits are non-refundable. Should you wish to reschedule, we require a minimum of 48 hours' notice, after which your deposit will be applied to your next appointment.

  • You are welcome to apply makeup to demonstrate how you typically fill in your eyebrows on a daily basis. This will help me understand your preferred style and ensure your comfort with the microblading/ombrè results. Collaboration is key in this process!

  • In the case that you are not satisfied with the results of your microblading or semi permanent brow enhancement there are three options:

    1. Ask if there can be any improvement to the shape (if not please look at steps 2 and 3)

    2. Let the brows naturally fade out on their own

    3. Seek a removal specialist (Laser or Manual removal)

All clients approve the shape before the procedure. Each client signs off on the shape acknowledging that this will be the final look. Best for:
Anyone who wants a natural looking brows by using fine hair strokes.

    Best for:
Anyone who wants their brows to resemble a makeup powdered look.

The Ombrè technique can be achieved using either an electric tattoo machine or a manual tool, resulting in a soft, powdered effect reminiscent of eyebrow powder.

On the other hand, microshading involves a stippling method that utilizes repetitive dots of pigment.
